The Ergolace has always stood for versatility. In the GTX version Fizik combines the tried and tested off-road concept with a GORE-TEX Invisible-Fit membranewhich is waterproof and windproof without noticeably bulking up the shoe. The aim: dry feet in the rain, mud and stream crossings - with the lowest possible weight.
Regardless of the pedal variant, both versions rely on a revised ripstop upper materialwhich is abrasion-resistant, quick-drying and has a more voluminous cut than its predecessor. Especially in the Forefoot area the shoe is wider, which reduces pressure peaks and increases toe clearance on long stages. PU reinforcements and a robust toe box provide reliable protection from stones and roots.
Typical Fizik: Instead of the classic tongue, a bootie-like airprene construction for use. Fewer material overlays ensure an even fit and a pressure-free feel - a clear advantage when you're travelling for many hours in the saddle or pushing.
A new feature of the Ergolace 2 GTX is the clear separation by pedal type.
Both models rely on the Ergonomic Ergolace Speedlace system. Asymmetrically arranged, it does not collide with the drive unit and can also be easily readjusted while riding. The seat remains secure without constricting the foot - a strength of the entire Ergolace concept.
With the Ergolace 2 GTX Fizik has noticeably sharpened its off-road portfolio. The combination of a weatherproof GORE-TEX membrane, wider fit and sophisticated sole differentiation makes the shoe a real all-season companion. The fact that Fizik is now consistently offering the GTX version as a Flat model significantly increases the practical benefits.
In a market comparison, the Ergolace 2 GTX is positioned between classic MTB touring shoes and sporty gravel models. Compared to many of its competitors, it scores points for walking comfort and weather protection, without being as heavy or sluggish as pure winter or trekking shoes.
