The Sportstyle 235 V comes in a high-quality hard case including goggle bag. The large panoramic lens is equipped with an anti-fog coating. The clean rubberised nose pads can be individually adjusted to the wearer. Although the temples are not adjustable, they are slightly curved downwards behind the ears, which should improve grip on rough rides.
In fact, the fit is exceptionally good, as the frame of the Uvex also has quite a lot of elasticity. This means that even narrower faces should be able to cope well with the Sportstyle, which is not always the case with other models with a large panoramic lens. Thanks to the long, adjustable nose pad, the Uvex also sits securely and does not tend to buckle off-road.
Even if the lens of the Uvex is quite generously dimensioned overall, the white frame is still always present in the field of vision. If this bothers you, you should opt for a half-frame or frameless model.
We were also not completely convinced by the wearing comfort of the Uvex. The rounded frame shape and the rubberised nose and temple tips are comfortable, but in the long run the glasses put some pressure on the nose. Small pressure points were the result when taking them off.
Thanks to its strong curvature, the Uvex fits comfortably close to the face and thus provides good protection from the wind. The wind only swirls a little behind the lens on the underside of the goggles. A good anti-fog coating ensures clear vision, even when you're standing at the traffic lights sweating or waiting for your mates at the end of a sweaty climb.
The Uvex takes some time to darken the lens. However, the Sportstyle 235 V brightens up all the more quickly, which is actually the much more important value. This puts the Uvex at the top of the test field in terms of brightening speed, even if the combined value is only good.
With its high clamping force and strong curvature, the Uvex is also a good alternative for narrow faces. The nose bridge is easy to adjust, but can cause pressure points. Their brightening and high-contrast filter clears up quickly and is well protected against fogging. The full frame keeps the wind out for the most part, but is somewhat distracting in the field of vision. Sits quite high on the face.
