Topics in this article

Sweet Protection has added the new Deckard goggle to its MTB line-up. It is clearly aimed at gravity riders who are travelling at high speeds, in changing light conditions and on long days in the saddle. The focus is on a large field of vision, a stable fit and consistent system integration with the Norwegian company's MTB helmets.

Developed for gravity applications

The Deckard goggle is designed for tough enduro and downhill use. The centrepiece is a robust TPU frame that is designed to absorb impacts and retain its shape even after many days on the bike. Lateral outriggers ensure a defined connection to the helmet and keep the goggles reliably in position even in rough passages.

Sweet Protection relies on a 2.8 mm thick, cylindrically shaped discwhich is designed to offer a wide, low-distortion field of vision. This pays off at high speeds and on technical terrain in particular. The goggle is optionally available with the in-house RIG disc technology which enhances contrasts and emphasises details in the terrain more clearly - a clear advantage in changing light conditions.

Ventilation, comfort and practical details

Sweet Protection also remains true to its line when it comes to comfort. Open mesh ventilation ports ensure air exchange without letting dirt into the interior unchecked. In addition, an injected pane holder stabilises the construction and helps to reduce fogging of the pane. The Three-layer facial foam reliably absorbs moisture and is comfortable to wear even on sweaty descents. For racing, the Deckard tear-off-readyto quickly regain a clear view in wet or muddy conditions. Newly developed, moulded-in strap fasteners increase durability, the Interchangeable belt system allows easy adaptation to different helmets.
