Rudy Project presents the Spinshield Pro, a new goggle that is particularly suitable for sporting and performance-orientated activities. The sports goggles are part of the existing collection, which already includes the Spinshield and Spinshield Air models.

With its characteristic half-rim frame design, the Spinshield Pro adopts the design language of its predecessors, but is aimed specifically at performance-orientated users thanks to its sportier orientation.

According to the manufacturer, the combination of a fully adjustable nose bridge and special anti-fog openings in the lens should ensure optimum customisation options and fog-free vision even during intensive sporting activities. With a total weight of 26 grams, the cycling goggles promise a high level of comfort even during long periods of use.

The combination of the lightweight frame and the adjustable nose bridge allows them to be adapted to different face shapes. According to the manufacturer, the large-area cylindrical lens offers a particularly wide field of vision and clear peripheral vision, which is particularly beneficial for dynamic sports such as our beloved cycling. The half-rim design also reduces the overall weight while ensuring optimum eye protection. The combination of sporty design and suitability for everyday use makes these glasses a versatile companion.

Glass technology for changing light conditions

A special feature of the Rudy Project Spinshield Pro are the available lens variants, which range from mirrored RP Optics Multilaser lenses to the photochromic ImpactX lenses. The latter represent Rudy Project's technological flagship and are based on an exclusive patented solution from the manufacturer.

The special feature of this technology is that the photochromic properties are not created by a surface coating, but by colour pigments that are embedded directly in the lens material, according to Rudy Project. As a result, the light sensitivity of the lenses should be retained even after scratches or prolonged use.

According to the manufacturer, ImpactX lenses adapt particularly quickly to changing light conditions and offer optical clarity and UV protection. Rudy Project describes these lenses as unbreakable and emphasises this promise with a lifetime guarantee. The technology is said to be particularly useful for sports that involve frequent changes between light and shade, such as mountain biking in the forest.

Optical insert for spectacle wearers

As with almost all Rudy Project models, the Spinshield Pro has been designed with the needs of spectacle wearers in mind. A specially developed optical clip insert can be attached behind the tinted lens and remains invisible from the outside.

Thanks to the patented Rudy Project technology, the insert is designed to guarantee a secure and comfortable fit without significantly affecting the aerodynamic properties or the overall weight of the glasses. This solution enables athletes with visual impairments to utilise the benefits of sports glasses without restrictions and without having to resort to contact lenses. The optical insert can be customised by the optician with the required corrective lenses and can be easily fitted and removed as required.
