Protection and style - what a great idea. With the new Artist Series x Mo Friedrich, Alpina is launching a limited edition collection that brings together art and mountain bike lifestyle. For once, the focus is not on a technical revolution, but on a creative approach - and the question of how much attitude can be put into helmets and goggles.

For the new Artist Series, Alpina has teamed up with the German artist Mo Friedrich who is an established figure in action sports culture. His signature runs through the entire collection: Reduced black and white illustrationsclear lines, deliberately implemented without grey tones.
The central motif shows a robin and a woodworm - normally opponents, but here united as ambassadors for community, tolerance and fun in sport.

More than just a helmet: a small collection

The Artist Series is not limited to a single product. The design can be found on several models from the Alpina portfolio, which cover different areas of use.
At the centre is the Rootage 2 Mips, an enduro helmet with triple-shell construction and integrated mips system to protect against rotational forces. It therefore fulfils the technical requirements for demanding trail and enduro use.

The series is complemented by

  • the Taunus Gravel Mips for gravel applications
  • the Lumin as sporty performance glasses
  • the Sneek 2.0 as lifestyle sunglasses with full UV protection

Together, this results in a harmonised setup that covers both sporty and everyday use.

Technology remains - design takes centre stage

Technically, the products are at the familiar Alpina level. The helmet Mips technology, multi-shell construction and comfort features takes centre stage. The artwork itself is deliberately integrated into the products - with the Rootage 2 Mips on the centre shell, for example. The design of the Gravel helmet is more discreet, while goggles such as the Lumin focus more on visual presence.

Conclusion from an editorial point of view

The Alpina Artist Series x Mo Friedrich is not a classic product innovation in the technical sense - but a Conscious change of perspective. Instead of new features, the focus is on the perception of nature. Wind in your face, earth between your teeth - mountain biking or cycling in general thrives on the fact that nature appeals to all our senses. The series shows that bike products can be more than just equipment - they can be part of a scene, an attitude to life.
