Monserat has become one of the hottest clothing brands in the mountain bike niche in Germany: timeless designs, good cuts, fair prices, made in Europe. The new products for 2026 are a consistent continuation of this - the material mix of recycled plastic and Lyocell natural fibres in particular shows that they are not just talking about sustainability here. - Max Fuchs, BIKE test editor
The Trailpants 4 are the centrepiece of the new line-up. The main fabric comes from Portugal and is also produced in the company's own sewing centre in Portugal. The fabric consists of 88 per cent recycled plastic - i.e. recycled PET bottles and similar materials - with the remainder providing elasticity. Monserat describes the material as extremely tear-resistant.
Technically, Monserat does a few things right: the flex waistband sits without pressure points, the custom belt allows the width to be adjusted without a buckle fitting. Two large zip pockets with solid metal teeth - none of those fragile nylon zips that jam after a season. The knee area is deliberately wider so that knee pads fit underneath. A little extra: the TP4 is available in two lengths, and Monserat has included intermediate sizes in its range (W32 = M, W33 = M-L, W34 = L). Anyone who regularly falls between trouser sizes will be familiar with this problem - and it has been solved here.
Colours: black, sand, olive. Sizes W29 to W38 (long version W31-W35). Price: 119.95 euros.
The Trail Shorts share the same waistband, belt, pocket concept and material philosophy as the long version - also 88 per cent recycled plastic, also produced in Portugal. Currently only available in black, sizes W29 to W38. Price: 94.95 euros.
The new Monserat trail jerseys are made from a lightweight mesh fabric made from 100 per cent recycled plastic, produced in Italy and processed in Portugal. The cut is loose - if you want a tighter fit, go down a size. The most striking design detail is the drop-down shoulder seam: the seam sits lower than usual and is designed to prevent pressure points when riding without making the shirt look strange when stationary. Four colours: black, sand, old rose, grey. Short sleeve 49.95 euros, long sleeve 59.95 euros, sizes XXS to 3XL (men and women).
The Lyocell Tech Shirt is the most unusual item in the new line-up. 95 per cent Lyocell (EcoVero), 5 per cent elastane - EcoVero is a certified Lyocell variant made from sustainably managed wood, which is produced in a much more resource-efficient way than standard viscose. Lyocell cools better than cotton, dries faster and feels silky against the skin - sounds more like a yoga studio than a trail, but according to Monserat it's good for both. The cut and shoulder seams are the same as the train jersey. Short sleeve in dark burgundy (39.95 euros), long sleeve in black (49.95 euros), also XXS to 3XL.
