Lupine is entering a completely new segment with the UFO series and is launching a saddle bag with an integrated rear light.
Lupine is expanding its portfolio and entering a new segment: With the UFO series, the lighting specialist is combining a saddlebag and rear light in one integrated system for the first time. The concept is aimed at sporty riders who want to keep their bike deliberately tidy - without compromising on visibility and function.

Separate rear lights, improvised mounts and lost rubber bands are part of everyday life for many cyclists. Lupine takes a new approach with the UFO and integrates the rear light directly into the saddlebag. The approach: fewer components, less assembly work and a cleaner look.

A new approach: light and storage space in one system

With a volume of 0.8 litres, the bag remains compact, but offers enough space for a tube, tools or CO₂ cartridges - exactly what you need on the tour. The saddle bag can be mounted without tools, the light simply snaps into place.

Particularly clever: the UFO saddle bag is attached to the seat post with a twist lock. On the one hand, this ensures a particularly stable fit. On the other hand, the bag can also be easily attached to aero seatposts or other specially shaped seatpost models. The Lupine bag is attached to the saddle frame using a sturdy Velcro strap.

Lupine UFO: two versions for different applications

UFO StVZO (Germany)

  • In the StVZO-compliant version, Lupine relies on the well-known Rotlicht Pro. With up to 120 lumens, it is one of the more powerful approved rear lights. An integrated brightness sensor and a brake light function increase visibility in road traffic.
  • It is attached directly to the bag via a Garmin-compatible mount - vibration-free and without an additional holder. Striking: the system should remain stable even on rough ground.
  • When it comes to materials, Lupine remains true to its line: CNC-milled aluminium (6061-T6) for the lamp housing meets robust textile materials for the bag.

  • The international version is based on a different lighting concept. Here, an integrated, removable COB LED rear light with up to 100 lumens are used.
  • Several light modes - including flashing and fog mode - extend the range of applications. Sensors recognise braking and switch the light on or off automatically.
  • The battery life of up to 34 hours is significantly more generous. Charging is via USB-C - this is practical and now standard.

Integration in everyday life: versatile

Lupine has deliberately positioned the UFO series broadly: the system is designed to work on everything from road bikes and gravel bikes to MTBs and urban use. Especially on modern bikes with minimalist lines, the compact solution fits in well with the overall look. The absence of external mounts reduces potential sources of interference - such as rattling lights or slipping mounts.

Conclusion of the editorial team

With the UFO series, Lupine brings an interesting approach into play: instead of adding components, they consistently integrate them. The result is a tidy setup that should appeal to minimalists and sporty riders in particular. Technically, Lupine relies on familiar strengths - high-quality workmanship, powerful light output and well thought-out details. However, the real added value lies in the system concept: fewer parts, fewer sources of error, less visual clutter on the bike.

The UFO series is a logical step for anyone who wants to consciously reduce their equipment without sacrificing function - even if the price, as is typical for Lupine, remains in the upper segment.
