The Thule Epos ParkSecure builds on the existing Epos model and integrates a parking sensor system directly into the carrier. The system activates automatically when reverse gear is engaged and warns the driver with acoustic and visual signals via a wireless unit in the vehicle. The four sensors fulfil ISO standard 17386, the same standard as automotive parking systems.
The telescopic support arms for frame mounting are swivelling. The carrier accommodates different types of bikes, including models with mudguards or pannier racks. The distance between the bikes is 25 cm and each bike travels independently. The sensors cover bikes with a wheelbase of up to 1350 mm and 29-inch wheels.
The carrier can be tilted down with the bikes fitted to allow access to the boot. When fully folded, it takes up little storage space. The 3-bike version has integrated transport rollers. Thule offers the Epos Bike Repair Holder, the High Grade Lock developed by ABUS and a foldable loading ramp as accessories. The 2-bike version costs 1,499.95 euros, the 3-bike version 1,649.95 euros >> available here.
