Whether it’s for a day trip or a long weekend of cycling: you need to take the right kit with you. That means you need a suitable bag – and it should be able to do more than just carry clothes. The Cube Duffle Bag 60 combines generous capacity with practical carrying options and a well-organised interior layout – ideal even for muddy cycling shoes and days when the weather’s not playing ball.
As the name suggests, the duffle bag is a ‘travel bag’, not a cycling rucksack. This bag is, of course, not designed for cycling tours or carrying gear on the trail.

A key feature of the Duffle Bag 60 is its carrying options. Classic carrying handles – or perhaps the rucksack function? It comes with detachable shoulder straps, allowing the bag to be used as a rucksack. This is handy if part of the journey is done by bike or on foot, as it leaves your hands free. However, you shouldn’t expect the same level of comfort as a proper rucksack. If you pack sensibly, though, the bag sits quite well against your back and you can easily cover a stretch of the journey by bike.
The large main compartment has mesh pockets on the sides, in which smaller items can be neatly stowed away. This means you don’t have to rummage through your clothes to find tools, gloves, charging cables, your mobile phone or toiletries.
There are also two larger separate compartments: one for (dirty) shoes, and one for the helmet. This separation is particularly useful when mountain biking, as shoes and helmets can get dirty after a ride. At the same time, your clean clothes remain better protected in the main compartment. Clothes that are heavily sweaty or covered in mud can still be stored in the shoe compartment.
All in all, the bag offers plenty of space. Whether that’s enough for a packed day out or a long weekend of cycling naturally depends on your individual needs. However, the bag is far from full even when packed with kit for a day’s cycling, even if you need to fit in clothes for cool or rainy weather. Incidentally, the bag is also available in a more compact 40-litre version.
We’ve all been there: just wanting to change quickly in the car park after a mud run. But where? The Cube Duffle Bag 60 features a removable integrated foot mat. This means you don’t have to stand in the wet and keeps your clean socks dry. The foot mat can be completely removed for washing. When not in use, it folds away neatly into a separate compartment in the duffel bag.
