YT Capra CF Pro on test
Last year, the Capra celebrated its debut - it whizzed through the enduro market like a pike through a carp pond, biting around and teaching the competition to fear.

Great looks, great performance, great value for money! We were impressed by the aggressive, freeride-oriented character of the bike, as well as the massive, yet extremely elegantly shaped carbon fibre chassis with chic paint mimicry. In our big enduro test in 2014, the Forchheim mail-order bike won the test, and the English magazine Dirt even recognised the bike as the "Enduro bike of the year". We were therefore curious to see whether it would dominate again this year. YT didn't send the lightest 160 millimetre Race top model to the test, but the freeride Pro version with 170 mm BOS suspension. Out of curiosity, we took it along to the first enduro test (aluminium bikes in FREERIDE 2/15) - where it smashed the competition to smithereens. "The YT is in a class of its own downhill," summarised one tester. The Capra also performed at its best in this test - but so did the competition. The YT has to share the downhill crown with the Santa Cruz. For the Capra: sit on it, feel good! The suspension is plush, literally sticks to the ground, reacts sensitively and craves full throttle. It wants to be ridden actively, then it pushes directly through berms in a sporty manner and zips through bends with agility. The geometry and handling are excellent, not to mention the stylish looks! The only downer: the BOS suspension elements cannot be calmed down at the touch of a button - this restrains the uphill performance somewhat. Canyon and Radon have the edge here. The rest of the equipment on the YT is well thought out and without any faults - everything fits.

ConclusionThe YT is the mini downhiller in the test field. It stays cool even during stunts, bike park missions and high speeds in junk. In short: the Capra is once again one of the top enduro bikes in 2015.

Strengths All-round use, chassis, price-performance ratio
Weaknesses none
