This is the Votec news from Eurobike: Votec returns to the enduro segment with the new VE and optimises its aluminium hardtail VC for trail use.

After more than two years of development work, Votec is closing the gap in its mountain bike line: with the new Votec VE, the bike manufacturer - which has been owned by Internetstores since 2012 - is back on the trails with a real enduro mountain bike. The Votec VC hardtail has also been revised: from a pure cross-country race bike to a downhill-orientated trail hardtail.

Votec VE: Modern aluminium enduro at fair prices

The highlight of the new Votec Enduro VE is the suspension travel and geometry adjustment using a flip chip on the shock rocker. This makes it possible to ride the VE with 160 or 170 mm at the rear and in a high or low setup. This means you can also ride suspension forks with 170 or 180 mm travel on the classic four-link with Horst link and lower the bottom bracket and flatten the steering angle using the flip chip. For example, if you change the flip chip from the high to the low position, the steering and seat angle is 0.5 degrees slacker and the bottom bracket moves down by five millimetres. Here is an overview of the individual positions:

The new VE frame can only be ridden with single drivetrains and is based on the new Boost 148 standard. The rear suspension kinematics have also been optimised to harmonise perfectly with the characteristics of the air shock. A chain guide with bashguard, a Reverb Stealth dropper post and rims with an internal width of 25 mm are standard on all three Votec VE models. The Schwalbe Procore system is even fitted as standard in the two expensive models. All three models of the Votec VE are very well equipped for the price. The price is between 2599 and 3799 euros. Here is an overview of the features of the three VE versions:

Votec VC: Hardtail trimmed for riding fun and trail use

The 29-inch frame of the Votec VC will in future be equipped with shorter chainstays and a slacker head angle (69 degrees). In addition, all three VC models will be fitted with a Vario seatpost. Suspension forks with 120 mm are fitted at the front. Wide 2.35 mm tyres provide plenty of tyre damping and maximum fun even on tougher trails. Mountain bike beginners benefit from the changes to the VC in terms of increased comfort and riding safety. Three versions of the new Votec VC will be available from 2016. The top model PRO is optionally available in a version with 2x11 and 1x11 gears. The prices are fair in relation to the equipment and range between 1399 and 1999 euros.
