Because nothing has changed in terms of the frame of the enduro bike with large wheels, which was revolutionary at the time. Even at the presentation, we were impressed by the incredibly playful handling, which puts many an enduro bike with smaller tyres in the shade. Even after various shock updates, nothing has changed. The Enduro 29 hasn't lost any of its manoeuvrable character, it is easy on the rear wheel and still offers enough composure in fast or rough sections. That's how it should be. The Öhlins shock, which is now in use, ensures a lively rear end with good absorption capacity. However, the damping adjustment range is relatively small and the stiff platform lever is not really easy to reach. All in all, however, the Enduro 29 continues to impress and proudly flies the flag for 29er enduro bikes. For an update, we would like to see a little more tyre clearance, a lower frame weight and a slightly lower bottom bracket.
ConclusionEven with four years under its belt, the Enduro 29 is still absolutely competitive and impresses with its top handling.
The alternative: With the S-Works, there is a more expensive version for 8999 euros. The Enduro Elite 29 (pictured) comes with an aluminium frame and is available in three frame sizes for 4299 euros.
