Single test: YT Industries Capra Pro
The YT Industries Capra Pro is a very good enduro bike for fast descents. Only the weight still has some room for improvement - as our test shows.

"THAT'S a YT?" More than once, the Capra caused astonished faces on the trail. The new enduro bike from the Forchheim-based mail-order company has a high-quality look: flowing shapes, internally routed cables, chic paintwork. The top model also boasts elegant BOS suspension, Sram X01 gears and Crossmax Enduro wheels in matching colours. The geometry is modern - long reach, short rear triangle, low bottom bracket. So low that 170 mm cranks are fitted to prevent frequent pedal contact.

The riding position is balanced. The Capra climbs quickly. It is bob-free when seated and quite lively when pedalling thanks to the locking lever at the rear and TRC adjustment at the front. However, the carbon bike does not achieve the extreme propulsion that some modern race enduro bikes (Scott Genius LT, Lapierre Spicy) display. 13.6 kilos with pedals (frame: 3040 grams including shock) are noticeable and not a top value in this class. On the other hand, the downhill handling characteristics are top: both the fork and the rear triangle provide great grip and enormous control at high speeds. You can chase through exposed terrain like a small downhiller. The low centre of gravity, the not too low front end and the slack steering angle do the rest to offer the rider a high degree of safety. At the same time, the Capra remains very direct and manoeuvrable. The wide handlebars and the 200 mm brake discs at the front and rear are just as useful as the chain guide with these enormous downhill characteristics. The only critical aspect: wheel stability. After the test, the 20-spoke rear wheel was already pretty out of round.

Conclusion High-quality carbon frame, top chassis and equipment. The Capra is a very good enduro bike for fast descents. Only the weight still has some room for improvement.
