CONCLUSION: A thoroughly successful, stiff enduro bike with a good component mix. Simplon could afford a more self-confident look.

The Simplon "Elvox" is - at least visually - more of a classic than an avant-garde bike. A simple aluminium frame in diamond design and various castings. The rear swingarm transmits the forces to the shock via a CNC-milled rocker. And the understated paintwork is not exactly extravagant either. A bike that evokes neither surprises nor exuberant emotions just by looking at it. However, this changes abruptly after the first few metres in the saddle. Suddenly the green-beige bike takes off like a fire engine. It pedals uphill with neutral drive and efficiency. But of course, the "Elvox" is in its element, especially downhill. You sit in the centre of the bike and all contact points, i.e. handlebars, saddle and pedals, are in exactly the right place. The suspension works sensitively, efficiently and without bottoming out. The interaction between fork and rear suspension works very well. The Simplon designers have kept the entire geometry, especially the wheelbase, relatively short to make the bike manageable on tight, narrow trails. Nevertheless, it doesn't feel nervous or uncontrollable even on fast, bumpy trails.

CONCLUSIONA thoroughly successful, stiff enduro bike with a good component mix. Simplon could afford a more self-confident look.
