Despite being slightly overweight and with little enduro-appropriate tuning, the Ransom can hold its own thanks to its versatile and convincing chassis.

Even in its fourth model year, the Ransom is holding its own. The Traction Control remote, which can be used to lock out or significantly tighten the rear suspension, is a unique selling point and gives the Ransom a wide range of applications - the suspension is still first class in its function. However, the 652 gram shock and the 2.9-kilo frame have fallen somewhat behind in terms of weight - with a total weight of 13.35 kilos, the Ransom ranks in the lower midfield. Unfortunately, the red pencil was also applied to the wrong tuning spot. The foam rubber grips on the narrow handlebars shifted so much that the testers got scared, and the overtaxed R1 brakes from Formula would be a nice addition to any cross-country bike, but have no place on an enduro bike with this downhill potential.

CONCLUSIONDespite being slightly overweight and with little enduro tuning, the Ransom can hold its own thanks to its versatile and convincing chassis.
