Scott Ransom eRide 910: the e-version of the successful enduro bike
With the Ransom, Scott is expanding its E-MTB range into higher suspension travel regions. The enduro bike comes with a Bosch drive, plenty of suspension travel and a no-frills look. We tested the top-of-the-range 910 model.

The Ransom has a long tradition: Scott presented the long-travel enduro bike for the first time in 2006, and since then it has also found plenty of fans among the touring clientele. Despite its generous suspension travel, the Ransom has always been easy to pedal. Now the E-version of the successful enduro bike - "Finally!", you want to shout, because Scott had stayed away from the long-travel theme for a while. However, the Swiss have made good use of the time and implanted the eRide with the same genes as its non-motorised predecessors. The result is a modern e-MTB with top suspension and a lively Bosch motor.

At 24.3 kilos, the Scott doesn't break any weight records, but the value is perfectly acceptable for an E-MTB in this category. The aluminium frame and the massive 38 mm Fox weigh it down. The down tube houses the 625 Powertube battery and the seat tube has a Fox Transfer dropper post with 175 mm travel (size L), so here too the product managers have focussed on function rather than weight. Only with the Maxxis tyres did they have the weight indicator in mind: instead of the puncture-proof Double Down casing, Scott opted for the lighter Exo+ casing. The Swiss are so convinced by the suspension that they have even dispensed with their patented Twinloc system. Scott riders can normally use this to adjust the suspension from the handlebars. In short: you won't miss this feature, because the Ransom shows similar talents on the climbs as it does downhill.
