Carbon fibre enduro bikes are still rare. This makes it all the more astonishing that the pioneer Scott is already in its fourth season with its Ransom. And although only minor changes have been made, the Ransom is far from being a thing of the past. With useful details such as a telescopic seatpost and the Traction Control System, the Ransom defines itself as a versatile companion. The handlebar lever provides either a usable 165 millimetres of suspension travel for rough terrain, a significantly firmer suspension travel reduced by half for technical climbing or a lockout for asphalt passages. There is also a platform that can be activated on the shock. With these options and the rather steep geometry (steering and seat angle), the Ransom also performs quite well on uphill tours without bottoming out in the shock on steep sections. Downhill, the Scott is neutral, easy to get onto the rear wheel and utilises the rear suspension travel despite the low SAG (set according to air pressure recommendations).
CONCLUSIONThanks to traction control, you have all the trump cards in your hand. The quick-to-use adjustment options ensure a wide range of use.
