Rotwild is leaving the wheel discussion behind for 2014 and is offering its All Mountains in 26, 27.5 and 29 inches. Also new: the G1 freeride bike.

Rotwild Touring Twentyniner: C1 FS 29

The German premium manufacturer Rotwild is offering a wide range for touring riders and demanding all-mountain riders in 2014. In addition to the previously tested R.Q1 FS with 27.5-inch wheels (special in BIKE 9/2013), Rotwild is presenting further new AM models at Eurobike 2013. For example, the touring twentyniner R.C1 FS 29, which was already available last year but has little in common with the 2014 model. Rotwild has made the rear triangle a little more manoeuvrable with shorter chainstays and reduced the frame weight a little with different tube sets. A 130 mm fork has also been fitted to the C1, making the bike even more potent downhill.

Special attention is paid to the 5000 euro Evo version: it comes with wider handlebars, Continental Trail King tyres, E13 double cranks and Kindshock telescopic seatpost.

Continuing with 26-inch wheels: the X1 FS

From next year, you will have the choice between 26 and 650B wheels for the All Mountain X1 - as there will be two independent models. The 26er version has increased its suspension travel and now rolls with 160 millimetres. The X1 is also available in a version with the new 1x11 X01 drivetrain from SRAM. This performance version costs 3200 euros.

If you prefer slightly larger wheels and less suspension travel, the X1 FS 27.5 is the bike for you. 150 millimetres is the limit. Short chainstays of 423 millimetres and a 67.5 degree steering angle promise playful handling. As is typical for Rotwild, there will again be three equipment variants, starting at 3200 euros and ending at 5000 euros.

G1: Rotwild goes one better for freeride bikes

If the 160 millimetres on the E1 Enduro are not enough for you, you should take a look at the brand new G1. The freerider tickles 180 millimetres out of the rear triangle. At the front, you have the choice between a 180 mm or 200 mm fork. The 26er comes with 420 millimetre chainstays, the aluminium chassis weighs 3080 grams without shock. The complete bike with the Evo equipment weighs a good 14.7 kilos. Only the price makes you dizzy: Rotwild wants 6500 euros for the top equipment, and 4000 for the simplest specification.
