With a lightweight full carbon frame (2198 grams without shock), Radon put the only enduro bike in the test under 13 kilos on the tyres. As the 20-inch frame was not available, we had to make do with the rather short and, due to the steeper head angle, quite lively 18-inch frame. In combination with the moderate tyres, the Radon tops the uphill rankings. In fast and rough downhill sections, however, you would wish for a little more composure and reserves on the short bike, even if the sensitive rear suspension does a good job. On our test bike, the rear wheel axle often came loose and the installed Acros headset with plastic clamping ring caused problems due to bearing play.
With its moderate geometry and lightweight construction, the Slide 160 bridges the gap to all-mountain. More of a downhill tourer than a thoroughbred enduro bike.
PLUS Lightweight frame/low overall weight, good propulsion
MINUS Headset had play, not very smooth
The alternative Radon offers the Team Replica of the Slide for just 400 euros more. The in-house enduro team rides with Manitou suspension and Magura brakes. Sram X01 cranks and Conti tyres are also included.
