The new Radon Jab MX has been completely revised and is designed as an enduro MTB in a mullet set-up. This means that Radon is now also putting its enduro bike on a large 29-inch front wheel with a smaller 27.5-inch rear wheel. Sounds like it wants to be chased over the world's toughest enduro trails at all costs, doesn't it? With a slacker head angle of 63.9° to 64.7°, an extended reach and a steeper seat angle of 76.5°, it invites you not only to increase your speed, but also to maximise your riding fun. According to Radon, the new Jab MX is versatile and playful, but still has sufficient reserves at the limit.
The new edition comes in a mullet setup with up to 170 mm travel at the front, an adjustable steering angle thanks to an angled headset, integrated storage space in the down tube and many other details. According to Radon, the main objective in the development of the new Jab MX was to adapt the geometry so that the bike delivers even better performance on the trail. There will be three different versions with different characteristics: the Jab MX 9.0, 10.0 and the 10.0 HD. Nice to see: All three Jab's remain well under 15 kilos, something touring fans should be happy about. However, the prices for Radon's carbon enduro bikes are higher than their predecessors. Let's take a look at the three new enduro MTBs...
The Radon Jab MX 9.0 is the entry-level model in the new Jab range, which offers a versatile range of standard features. The Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate suspension fork with Charger 3 RC2 cartridge and the Fox Float X2 Performance rear shock are designed to ensure sensitive response behaviour and even suspension travel release. The 12-speed Sram GX Eagle drivetrain offers a corresponding range and fast gear changes, while the Magura MT5 brakes with four pistons are designed to provide reliable and powerful braking performance. The DT Swiss E1900 Spline wheel, equipped with Maxxis Assegai and Minion DHR II tyres, is responsible for traction and control in any terrain. The package is completed by the SDG Tellis V2 dropper post, a Race Face cockpit and the SDG Bel Air V3 saddle.
With the Jab MX 10.0, Radon has struck a compromise between dream equipment and an affordable price. The Fox 36 Performance Elite fork is designed to provide good damping on both pedalling sections and fast descents. Together with the Fox Float X2 Performance Elite shock and the lightweight yet robust Newmen Evolution SL A.30 wheels, the MTB is, according to Radon, not too weak for any enduro trail. The drive mix of Shimano SLX and XT components offers a wide range and functionality in all conditions. The Shimano XT BR-M8120 brakes with four pistons are there to ensure that the MTB stops quickly even under the highest loads and on blistering trails, even on long descents. The SDG Tellis V2 dropper post and SDG Bel Air saddle create air under your bum when you need it.
With the top-of-the-range Jab MX 10.0 HD model, Radon wants to provide a complete package with top performance and top-class equipment for riding fun on every trail. With improved equipment and additional suspension travel at the front, the HD version of the Jab MX 10.0 is designed to offer even more performance on descents. The Fox 38 Factory fork with 170 mm travel and Kashima coating is not only visually premium quality, but also technically. With the adjustable GRIP 2 cartridge, the compression can be customised and the suspension tuned for different terrains. The quiet and stable Newmen Evolution SL A.30 wheels are combined with Schwalbe Magic Mary and Big Betty tyres. The Sram X0 Eagle drivetrain with wireless AXS POD controller should ensure a clean look on the cockpit and electronically fast gear changes.
