Radon is expanding the Jab range with a 29-inch version for the 2025 season. The enduro bike was developed with the team riders and trimmed even more for speed and smoothness. The revised carbon frame offers customisable geometry and integrated storage options, which is extremely practical, especially for racing.
At Euro-Bike 2017, the bike mail order company from Bonn presented the Radon Jab, developed by kinematics expert Bodo Probst, for the first time. Special feature: the martial carbon frame with a stealth look. Sensational: the light frame weight of 2668 grams (M). In the low-priced 9.0 version, the 160-millimetre enduro bike with 27.5-inch wheels weighed in at just 12.9 kilos (!). This gave the Luftikus an extremely wide range of use in contrast to many other enduro bikes, which had developed into mini downhillers. Later, an MX version of the Jab was added with a 29er front wheel for better rollover behaviour. The Jab performed very well in numerous tests and impressed the testers with its agile handling.
The carbon frame has been fundamentally revised for the new version and the geometry adapted to the larger wheels at the rear. This gives the Jab All-29 a longer reach (479 mm in large) and wheelbase (1260 in large). The head angle is slacker (63.85-64.75°) for even more downhill performance, but can be individually adjusted via an angled headset. Radon claims that the uphill performance has also been improved thanks to the optimised seating position.
One new feature is the integrated storage space in the down tube for tools, a spare tube or anything else that enduro racers need to take with them. The suspension travel has been increased to 170 millimetres.
The two models on offer, 9.0 and 10.0, have 160 mm travel at the front and 150 mm at the rear.
The Radon Jab is available in two equipment variants: Jab 9.0 and Jab 10.0. Both models share the carbon frame, but differ in terms of equipment. The Jab 9.0 uses Rockshox suspension with a Lyrik Select+ fork and a Vivid Select+ shock. The gearing comes from the SRAM Eagle series, the brakes: the tried and tested Magura MT5.
Weight: 14.9 kg. Price: 3499 Euro
The Jab 10.0 is equipped with the top of the line Fox suspension: 38 Factory fork and a Float X2 Factory shock. Shimano components are used for the gears, a combination of the SLX and XT groupset. The brakes: Shimano XT.
Weight: 15.1 kg. Price: 4199 Euro
Both models use DT Swiss wheels, whereby the Jab 10.0 is equipped with the EX1700 Spline wheelset. When choosing tyres, Radon relies on models from Maxxis and Continental. The Jab 9.0 combines a Maxxis Assegai tyre at the front with a Minion DHR II at the rear. The Jab 10.0 is fitted with Continental Kryptotal tyres.
