Pivot presents the revised Firebird model. The enduro bike has 165 millimetres of rear suspension travel and a 170 millimetre suspension fork. New features include the Swinger dropout system for adjusting the chainstay length and a flip chip for changing the rear triangle progression. The Firebird is available as a complete 29er or in a mullet configuration. With the revised Firebird, Pivot Cycles is clearly targeting ambitious enduro riders who are looking for a versatile bike for demanding trails and racing.
The US manufacturer Pivot Cycles presents the new Firebird, a completely redesigned enduro bike. For even better performance on demanding trails, Pivot has adapted the geometry, increased the rear suspension travel by 5 millimetres and integrated numerous geometry and suspension adjustment options.
The 2025 Firebird has 165 millimetres of rear suspension travel. As usual, the shock is controlled by Pivot's typical DW-Link. At the front, 170 millimetre suspension forks are used in all models.
A key innovation of the Firebird is the patented Swinger dropout system. This allows bikers to adjust the chainstay length. In the long setting, the longer wheelbase ensures a smoother ride and greater stability. The short setting is suitable for riders who prefer more agile handling.
In addition, Pivot has integrated a flip chip on the lower shock mount, which can be used to change the rear suspension progressivity. In the linear setting, the bike should react particularly sensitively to small impacts and offer maximum traction. Turning the chip results in a more progressive characteristic curve for more support with larger impacts and more support with an active riding style. Both settings are compatible with both air and coil shocks.
The new Firebird is available either as a complete 29er bike or in a mullet configuration with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. This allows riders to choose the wheel size that suits them best. Another new feature is the integrated Pivot Toolshed storage system in the down tube. Important tools and spare parts can be safely stowed here without rattling around while riding.
The Pivot Firebird is offered in three different equipment variants, each of which is available with components from Shimano or Sram. The cheaper models with carbon wheels are also available as an option. The price range extends from around 7,000 euros to just under 12,000 euros for the top equipment.
Depending on their preference, customers can also upgrade the bike with an electronically controlled Fox Live Neo steel spring damper and an electronic Fox Live Neo Vario seatpost for an additional charge. The Firebird is available in the colours YOLO and White Gold. There is also a special limited edition of 200 bikes in Purple Galaxy. Surcharge: 250 euros.
Enduro World Cup rider Morgane Charre from the Pivot Factory Racing Team has already tested the new Firebird: "I'm absolutely thrilled with the downhill performance of the new Firebird. I've never felt so comfortable and confident on an enduro bike - especially on steep and rough trails. It's incredibly versatile, manoeuvrable and playful and climbs better than ever before. The new toolshed storage compartment is a great innovation. I'm really looking forward to fine-tuning the bike for the Enduro World Cup season with all the adjustment options. It also just looks beautiful."
The new Firebird is available now. You can find more information about the bike on the manufacturer's website.
