As a pure e-MTB manufacturer, Moustache plays a pioneering role for innovative special solutions. Three years ago, for example, the French company was already using different wheel sizes. Unfortunately, Moustache has abandoned the wheel concept, but the top model Samedi 27 is bursting with extravagant details: its own shock, which allows the bike to stay better in its travel on steep, technical climbs. Super-wide support for the rear triangle. Moustache even builds the carbon wheels and the dropper post itself, with exquisite materials and an excellent finish.
The Moustache engineers have only left the drive concept and battery untouched. Bosch Performance CX with the classic Powerpack battery. No full integration. But for good reason. The battery is light, compact and keeps the centre of gravity low. No integrated system can keep up with it functionally. And even the look scores points. Because the French cleverly pack the battery into the carbon down tube. The naked values speak for themselves: the Samedi is light and stiff, and the powerful Bosch motor still plays in the top league. The suspension offers plenty of travel and responds well. The bike climbs well, not least thanks to the slightly longer chainstays. Nevertheless, it is playful downhill and is particularly good on narrow single trails. Even at slow speeds, the bike steers neutrally and shows no tendency to tip over. Is the Moustache the all-purpose weapon for every type of rider? Not quite. The geometry is quite short, the head angle is relatively steep for a bike in this travel class, and the handlebars could be a tad wider. The bike gets nervous on fast, rough downhills and requires a steady, experienced hand.
Beautiful, elegant, functional - that's what you can expect for this price. The Moustache is ideal as a touring bike. If you ride it enduro-style, you will want a flatter geometry.

EMTB JUDGEMENT SUPER³
¹ Manufacturer's specification
² Determined on the test benches in the EMTB test laboratory, weight without pedals.
The judgement reflects the subjective impression of the testers and the results of the reach measurement and laboratory tests. The assessment is always to be understood in relation to the respective category (hardtail, tour/trail, enduro).
4 Determined on the roller test bench in the EMTB test laboratory at the highest support level, constant incline without flat sections, 130 watts pedalling power of the rider. The time / 500 altitude metres refers to the first 500 altitude metres.
The EMTB judgement is independent of price.
EMTB judgements: super (from 350 points), very good (from 315 points), good (from 280 points), satisfactory (from 245 points), with weaknesses (from 210 points), below insufficient. 4Average value from the range height test over the entire distance.
