An Instagram video suggests that Unno is currently testing the new DJI Avinox. Will the Unno Ikki with TQ motor (top centre) soon have a powerful brother with the new drive from the Chinese company?
No other product in the bike industry is currently attracting as much attention as the DJI Avinox motor. No wonder some companies are jumping on the bandwagon. Now an Instagram video from Unno has fuelled the rumour mill. Is a Spanish e-bike with DJI Avinox coming soon?

It's been THE topic of the last few months: Who will be next with an e-mountainbike with the new DJI Avinox super motor? A Instagram video from Forbidden founder Owen Pemberton fuelled rumours of a new Avinox bike last year. A recent post on the official account of the Spanish luxury brand Unno is even clearer. A video shows, not very subtly, that an E-MTB with DJI Avinox is being ridden here. And the caption makes it clear how the Unno makers feel about the new Avinox motor: "POV: You are riding the future of ebiking".

Completely obvious: both the top tube display and the two remote levers on the handlebars are definitely part of the new DJI Avinox system. However, the bike itself is never fully visible in the POV perspective and details of the frame cannot be recognised in the video. It is therefore not clear whether it is an Unno prototype. However, a closer look reveals that this is not a production bike from Amflow. The assumption is that Unno is actually putting the motor through its paces in a new expansion stage of one of its E-MTBs.

The Spaniards presented their last new e-bike just over a year ago: The light enduro Ikki with TQ motor. The Spaniards' designs are anything but ordinary. The ground-breaking DJI drive would look good on the extravagant E-MTBs.

The Unno Ikki comes with the TQ HPR 50 light motor and should remain under 19 kilos despite its generous suspension travel. On the full-power side, Unno currently has the Enduro Mith with Bosch Performance CX in its programme. As this is still the "old" version of the Bosch power unit, an update of this model would not come as a surprise. Fun fact: Unno also has a large display in the top tube of the Bosch bike, namely a Kiox from Bosch. The path to integrating the Avinox display would therefore not be far away.

Both E-MTBs from Unno are designed to be very downhill-orientated. 170/160 millimetres of suspension travel and aggressive geometry make them full-blown enduro bolides. What the two exclusive bikes also have in common is a hefty price tag. Neither model is available for less than 8500 euros. So anyone hoping for an affordable e-MTB with DJI Avinox will probably have to look in a different direction.
