Interchangeable battery, 630 watt hours: Nox relaunches E-MTBs
Nox presents its new e-MTBs at the BIKE Festival in Leogang. All 2019 models come with a removable battery and 630 watt hours. The new Brose Drive S Mag motor is also on its way.

The Berlin bike brand Nox has focussed fully on e-mountainbikes since 2016. The result is sporty and trail-orientated e-MTBs. Previously, Nox bikes came with a permanently integrated battery, which limited the range and flexibility. For 2019, Nox is giving all models a removable battery. The 630 Wh energy carrier comes from the German battery giant BMZ and can be removed quickly and conventionally from the down tube. As with other brands, this design and the powerful battery will unfortunately add a little extra weight compared to the predecessors.

Models and prices

The new design will be available in the hardtail Nox Hybrid XC Trail and the all-mountain Nox Hybrid 5.9 All-Mountain. Both bikes rely on the quiet Brose Drive S motor and are compatible with both 27.5 plus and 29-inch tyres. The fully is available from 4399 euros, the hardtail from 3299 euros. All bikes come in sizes S, M, L and XL.

The Nox 5.9 All-Mountain Pro will cost 6399 euros and come with Fox suspension (36 Factory, Float X2). There's also an X0 Eagle 12-speed from Sram, Fox Transfer dropper post and Magura MT7 brakes. Highlight follows in spring

In early 2019, Nox also plans to launch the top product in the new line, the 180-millimetre Nox Hybrid 7.1 Enduro. The long-stroke bike has the same features as its smaller brothers, but will be equipped with the new, lighter and even more powerful Brose Drive S Mag come. The Berliners want to keep the weight as low as possible. The E-MTB Enduro focusses on downhill-heavy components and will probably also come in a version with steel spring shock absorbers.
