Fullys from 1700 euros
The fully mid-range is between 1700 and 2000 euros. We tested 23 bikes from the marathon, all-round and enduro categories and show which ones are more classy than average.

We press our noses against the Porsche shop window, sneak round the latest luxury Mercedes or dream of a Range Rover. But we buy the VW Golf and Opel Astra. They are practical and cost much less. It's no different with bikes. Exclusive race bikes made of carbon fibre or futuristic downhillers with long suspension travel arouse emotions, but cheaper bikes are bought. A magical threshold lies at around 2000 euros. Most bikers don't want to spend more on a fully.

THE TEST FIELD

We invited bike companies to take part in our mega test. We left the choice of model up to the manufacturers. Condition: The sales price had to be between 1700 and 2000 euros. We received a correspondingly large number of bikes from a wide range of categories.

We categorise bikes with up to 100 millimetres of travel as marathon bikes. You will find nine bikes from this group in our test. The all-round bikes work with suspension travel between 100 and 130 millimetres. Compared to the marathon bikes, the riding position is more relaxed. This applies to nine bikes in this test. The enduro bikes make up the smallest group with five representatives. Characteristics: Suspension travel of over 140 millimetres and an upright riding position that encourages a playful riding style.

You can find these bikes in the test:

ENDURO:
Arrow SD 16, Ghost Enduro RT 5700, HT SLK Touring, Red Bull Factory 700, Wheeler Hornet 30
