The trail winds comfortably along the slope. There must be a turn-off to the steep section somewhere. "It goes down here," shouts Stephan as he lowers his telescopic seatpost with a quick flick of the wrist and tilts it to the right into the path. Holger is glued to his rear wheel. The path is a tough one. It winds steeply downhill on loose ground, only to become even steeper at the key point - a bend around a tree with a high root step. "Fun trail, but a brief warning that it's about to get really steep would have been nice," says Holger, looking down at his still extended saddle.
