Enduro test: Cannondale Jekyll Carbon 2
Having already tested the top model of the Cannondale Jekyll series in BIKE 7/14 with the verdict "super", the Carbon 2, the more affordable carbon offshoot, now rolls into our enduro comparison.

Due to the very different equipment, the Carbon 2 with an identical frame is a lot cheaper, but also significantly heavier. 14.05 kilos including pedals is the second highest weight in the comparison. Nevertheless, thanks to the remote lever and Fox Dyad shock, the Carbon 2 can also be accelerated without annoying pumping. The tyres ensure easy rolling, but in combination with the Mavic rims, which are too narrow, they severely limit the available potential on the descents. Compared to the Rock Shox Pike and Fox 36, the Lefty fork has excellent stiffness, but could work a little more actively compared to the strongest competition.

Conclusion: very versatile enduro bike with great touring potential thanks to the Dyad shock. Tyres and rims limit enduro use.

PLUS Remote-controlled damper, neutral, agile handling
MINUS Tele post very short and only 100 mm travel, tyres quickly overstretched, rims too narrow, very steep seat angle

The alternative: The Jekyll 3 is available with an aluminium frame for 3399 euros. For this, Cannondale fans get a Rock Shox Pike and a Sram X9/X7 groupset instead of the single-arm Lefty Supermax.
