The 2022 model has virtually nothing in common with the "old" Kenevo. The double-bridge fork, the asymmetrical frame and the 27.5 wheels are history. There is also a light motor from the German manufacturer Mahle in the down tube. Plus a 320 Wh battery. The carbon frame has the same rear suspension kinematics as the world champion downhiller Demo and the Enduro. What remains: The Kenevo is still the US manufacturer's most powerful downhill e-bike, while the Levo appeals to trail bikers.
It quickly becomes clear that as stylish as a minimal-assist bike may look, the lack of thrust is noticeable on the climbs. Even in power mode, the Kenevo needs a lot of oomph in the legs on steep sections. The Mahle motor could be quieter. The geo is extreme: long, flat, low! The bike knows no limits on the descents. The fluffy rear suspension can't be rattled. Pleasant: The bike is very quiet downhill. In short, the Kenevo is the fastest e-bike we've ever ridden. However, there are better bikes on tame, winding trails.
For all of you who have € 10,000 in the bank and would like to spend it. The Kenevo SL is for bikers who don't want to compromise on downhill performance and like to pedal uphill themselves instead of whizzing uphill in "moped" mode. Specialized fans who prefer a manoeuvrable e-bike should consider the Levo SL. It also finally has super-short chainstays (437 mm)!
