E-Enduro with Fazua drive: Lapierre E-Zesty
Does the Lapierre E-Zesty establish a new e-bike category? The lightweight minimal-assist enduro bike combines classic handling with easy climbing assistance - and also offers two bikes in one.

I'm actually not a fan of integrated batteries on e-bikes. Sure, visually they are (usually) an advantage, but the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Such bikes are heavier and more cumbersome. And now this: I'm surfing down the test trail for the third time and can't get the grin off my face. The E-Zesty weaves nimbly through the terrain. On drop edges, a slight pull on the handlebars is enough to lift the front end. Quick changes of direction are a breeze. Again and again I push off waves and let the bike fly a few metres. Pure agility and riding fun - with an integrated battery! Brave new world?

You can find out whether the Lapierre E-Zesty has a catch in the full test article, which you can find as a PDF in the download section below.

Complete motor and battery integration without the pot-bellied pig look. No other E-Fully on the market is currently closer to a classic bike. Nor closer to the riding experience of one. Despite weighing 18.3 kilos, the Lapierre E-Zesty whizzes through the trails with real agility. The highlight: without the motor, at 15.5 kilos, it is a real competitor to normal enduro bikes.Photo: Markus Greber Complete motor and battery integration without the pot-bellied pig look.
