Italian manufacturer THOK E-Bikes presents the TK02 S, a new enduro e-bike that complements the existing TK model range with a Bosch drive version. While the previous TK01 is equipped with a Shimano motor, the new model uses the latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 drive. With this expansion, the manufacturer from Alba is responding to different customer preferences for drive systems and completing its range in the Enduro segment. The new TK02 S has a mullet set-up with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel, 170 mm front and rear suspension travel and a modern, downhill-orientated geometry. According to THOK, the bike combines the core elements of the brand philosophy: maximum performance on demanding trails with a simultaneous focus on riding fun.
The frame of the TK02 S is made of 6061 T6/T4 aluminium with CNC-milled components and retains the characteristic design elements of the TK series. These include the striking "Viper Head", a specially shaped top tube with a viper look, as well as the robust down tube with fully integrated battery. The cable routing has been completely redesigned and now runs completely inside the frame, even in the head tube area. According to the manufacturer, this solution not only gives the bike a tidy look, but also emphasises the frame design and the graphic details.
The frame is compatible with the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), which makes it easier to replace the derailleur hanger if necessary. The geometry has been optimised for maximum performance in demanding terrain: The flat head tube angle of 64.5 degrees ensures stability and safety on fast and technical descents, while the steep seat tube angle of 77.5 degrees enables an efficient riding position when going uphill and improves traction on the front wheel. According to THOK, this combination should guarantee balanced riding behaviour in all situations and make the bike versatile.
At the heart of the TK02 S is the new Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor, which is one of the most powerful e-bike drives on the market with up to 100 Nm of torque and a peak output of 750 watts. The motor was specially developed for use in demanding terrain and is designed to provide sufficient support even on steep climbs and technical passages.
As standard, the TK02 S is equipped with a Bosch PowerTube battery with 800 Wh, which is fully integrated into the down tube. Thok CEO Stefano Migliorini puts it in a nutshell: "You're more likely to run out of juice than the battery!" For riders who want to save weight or are planning shorter tours, the bike is also compatible with the smaller 600 Wh battery. There is also the option of using the Bosch Range Extender with 250 Wh, which increases the total capacity to up to 1,050 Wh. This modular solution allows the battery capacity to be adapted to the respective requirements and also enables extended tours in alpine terrain. The drive is also compatible with all Bosch software updates, which ensures continuous optimisation of system performance.
THOK relies on premium components throughout. The rear derailleur comes from the SRAM Eagle T-Type 70 series and is mounted directly on the frame. This design was specially developed for e-bikes with high torque and is intended to guarantee precise, smooth gear changes even under full load. The suspension elements come from FOX and are part of the Performance series: a FOX 38 Float suspension fork with 170 mm travel is used at the front, while a FOX Float X shock with tuning specially adapted to the bike is used at the rear to ensure optimum damping properties.
Magura MT5 four-piston brakes with large 203 mm brake discs on both wheels are responsible for sufficient braking power. This combination should ensure reliable deceleration even on long descents and at high speeds. The tyres come from Maxxis, with a 29×2.5-inch Assegai with EXO+ casing on the front wheel and a 27.5×2.6-inch DHR II, also with EXO+ casing, on the rear wheel. Both tyres are tubeless-ready and, according to the manufacturer, offer the optimum compromise between grip, rolling resistance and puncture resistance for enduro use.
The TK02 S is now available to buy - the bike can be ordered directly from the THOK online shop as well as from selected THOK dealers. It is available in four sizes (S, M, L and XL) to allow riders of different heights to find the perfect fit. The telescopic seatpost is size-specific: For frame size S, the stroke is 125 mm, for M 150 mm and for L and XL 170 mm. In terms of colour, the TK02 S is initially only available in the "Black Sand" version.
The price is 6,290 euros including VAT. Included is the THOK Care service package, which includes a two-year warranty extension, free shipping and an accessory box with special extras. Test rides will not only be available at the THOK stand at the Italian Bike Festival in Misano, but also at the official THOK partner Evolve Bike on the trails of Finale Ligure, one of Italy's best-known bike areas.
