For many hardcore bikers, steel is the frame material of choice. With the new Rocket, Cotic has brought a steel full-suspension bike with 150 millimetres of travel to the BIKE Festival in Willingen.
Steel bikes are becoming increasingly rare, but the combination of steel tubes and suspension is extremely rare. The Sheffield-based company takes this step with Reynolds 853 tubes, giving the bike 150 millimetres of travel, an X12 thru-axle and a fat 1.5-1 1/8 tapered head tube. Forks with 150-160 millimetre travel fit. The weight is steep: 3.7 kilos. From 1649 euros, such a beautiful frame kit changes hands, with a choice of orange or black.
