On the occasion of the Bosch CX update, Centurion seizes the opportunity and not only installs a new motor, but also redesigns the No Pogo R from the ground up. As a result, the former all-mountain bike has been given more suspension travel and, with 170 millimetres of travel at the front and rear, has established itself in the middle of the enduro category.
For the wheel size, the developers have opted for a mullet concept with 29-inch wheels at the front and 27.5-inch wheels at the rear. This keeps the chainstay length in check and also creates space for a possible mudguard. A laterally removable 800 Wh battery provides long-lasting power. The lighter 600 Wh battery can also be installed as an option if the last gram is needed.
If you are looking for additional power for really long tours, you can fit the optional external range extender with 250 Wh instead of a bottle. With over 1000 Wh, really long tours are also possible.
Centurion has also opted for an aluminium frame for the latest version, which it claims is 800 grams lighter. In order to achieve this goal, the frame has been elaborately designed. While the voluminous down tube is extruded, hydroformed parts or tubes are used in the other areas. The motor mount itself is produced using a gravity casting process and then welded to the down tube and seat tube. Prepared in this way, the bike is approved for a maximum system weight of 150 kilograms and has a bike park approval with ASTM 4 classification. The top model R3000 we weighed weighs in at 25.1 kilos without pedals. The two cheaper models weigh in at 25.6 and 26.4 kilos.
To give all riders more freedom of movement on the bike, Centurion has opted for shorter seat tubes on the No Pogo R. In frame size S, the seat tube measures just 390 millimetres and comes with a 125-150 millimetre adjustable dropper post as standard. In size M, the seat tube measures 420 millimetres (dropper post 150-175 mm), in size L 440 millimetres (dropper post 170-200 mm) and in size XL 460 millimetres (dropper post 200-230 mm).
The Centurion No Pogo R will be available in three equipment variants. The main focus of the developers and product managers was on high-quality suspension for every price range. The top model R3000 costs 7199 euros and features Rockshox Ultimate suspension. With the R2000 for 6199 euros, Centurion relies on a DVO 38 and a Topaz Pro shock. This is followed by the R1000 for 5399 euros, which comes with the SR Suntour Durolux 38 suspension fork and a Triax shock.
