Apart from the missing chain guide, the new Torque presents itself as a flawlessly tuned lightweight freerider with potent suspension, which would also have uphill potential with a lowerable fork.

Freeride category - out of competition

With its long 180 millimetre fork without drop, the new Torque stands out from the 160cc group and is therefore out of contention in this test field. Nevertheless, Canyon has managed to tune the lightweight freerider to an impressive 13.6 kilograms with a suspension system that, with the massive Rock Shox Totem fork in combination with the Fox DHX shock, no other model can match on the descents. On the climbs, however, you would want a lowerable front end, which would significantly increase the range of use even with the long fork. Since Canyon also offers the same frame with a 160 mm fork, we have included it in the enduro frame ranking.

CONCLUSIONExcept for the missing chain guide, the new Torque presents itself as a flawlessly tuned lightweight freerider with potent suspension, which would also have uphill potential with a lowerable fork.
