Canyon Torque Alpinist
High-quality frame with a convincing rear triangle that offers good riding characteristics. These are somewhat diminished by the equipment.

With a whopping 180 millimetres of rear travel, the Torque leads this enduro comparison test. This is not only noticeable on paper, but also in the downhill performance. The rear suspension is sensitive, sits firmly on the piste and has good absorption qualities, even on big hits. In comparison, the "short" 160 mm Fox fork is significantly firmer, which makes the suspension unbalanced overall. A 180 mm fork would harmonise much better with the potent rear end. If that's too much for you, you should keep an eye on Canyon's new 160 mm "Strive" platform. In order to achieve a respectable weight of 14 kilos for the heaviest frame in the test, Canyon uses parts that prevent the bike from reaching its full potential. The not very puncture-resistant Nobby Nic on the rear wheel, the too narrow cockpit and the lack of chain guide and dropper post spoil the riding fun.

ConclusionHigh-quality frame with a convincing rear triangle that offers good riding characteristics. These are somewhat diminished by the equipment.

+ Very good rear end

+ Good workmanship/details

- Fork too short

- Little useful equipment
