Without any great hullabaloo Cannondale gives its enduro classic Jekyll a 29-inch version to the side. The fact that the Jekyll Carbon with 27.5-inch wheels and 170 mm suspension is one of the best enduro bikes on the market was confirmed in our Enduro test last year impressively proven. For the 29er, the Americans use the same carbon fibre main frame, the new rear triangle of the supported single-joint is made of aluminium and the rocker is made of carbon. In terms of suspension travel, the Jekyll is reduced to 150 millimetres due to the large wheels. As with the 27.5 Jekyll, the 29er also uses the Gemini system on the shock, with which the stroke can be shortened and tightened to 120 millimetres at the touch of a thumb on the remote control. The geometry is modern, but not too extreme. The steering angle is 65 degrees, the seat angle is 75 degrees. The reach measures 441 millimetres in size M and the chainstays are two centimetres longer than the 27.5 Jekyll at 442 millimetres. A bottle cage can also be fitted.
In total, there are three models of the Jekyll 29 for 6500, 5500 and 4000 euros. They should be available from Cannondale dealers from the end of September 2018. We already have the Jekyll 29 1 - the top model for € 6500 with Fox Kashima suspension - in the editorial office for testing. The weight is 14.26 kg. You can read how the new Jekyll 29 performs in the first in-depth test in BIKE 10/18 - on newsstands from 4 September.
