The former Enduro Sanction is no more: GT has given the Force more travel. It is now used as a shred machine by X-Games star Brage Vestavik.

Who knows, maybe that's why the GT engineers played it safe and laminated the bike so robustly? Because even the top model weighs in at a chubby 15.8 kilos (heaviest bike in the test). In addition to more travel, GT gave the bike a high-pivot construction. The aluminium chainstays grow with the frame size and can also be extended using a flip chip (+/- 10 mm). Sit on it, feel good? No, the Force didn't really sparkle. We had to get used to the geometry. Although you sit low on the bike, the front and rear don't harmonise very well. Bends need to be ridden very actively. The Force prefers the straight line. Then it allows a lot of speed and the suspension provides active support. The central position on the bike on climbs is pleasing, but the weight prevents all-round use.

PLUSSmooth running

MINUS: pointed application range, handling, tension control

Conclusion on the GT Force CF Pro LE

The Force gives you confidence on high-speed sections, but the bike lacks playfulness. The bike is hardly suitable for touring.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
