Unusually, the Bionicon Edison Evo is available with conventional RockShox suspension, but also with the patented Bionicon climbing aid, which is implanted in X-Fusion suspension elements. But even without it, the Edison Evo knows how to impress as a fully-fledged enduro bike. Details such as the in-house lightweight chain guide and the oval chainring enhance the bike. Thanks to the slackest head angle (64.5 degrees) in the test and the associated long wheelbase, the Bionicon is clearly on the smooth side. If you're looking for a playful, manoeuvrable companion, you won't find it here. In fast sections, the rear suspension can't quite keep up with the best in the test and passes on the bumps more to the rider.
Smooth-running enduro mountain bike with no rough edges, well thought-out details and sensible equipment.
Balanced geometry, potent suspension, sensible equipment - with the Edison Evo, the Bavarian manufacturer Bionicon has created its best enduro bike to date. Super!
PLUS Nice details: light chain guide, chainring
MINUS Heavy frame, less playful geometry, no bottle cage possible
The alternative The Edison Evo starts at 2950 euros. In addition to the tested version with conventional suspension elements, the enduro bike is of course also available with Bionicon geometry adjustment.
