Big hit: YT Jeffsy 27 CF Pro Race on test
It's almost scary how much bike you can get from mail order company YT for 4499 euros: carbon all over. The YT Industries Jeffsy in 27.5 inches in the BIKE test.

The new top model of the Jeffsys with small 27.5-inch wheels has everything your heart desires: a full carbon frame, Fox Factory suspension and even carbon wheels and cranks. A package like this is extremely rare, even among the mail-order competition. But it's not just the price of the YT Industries Jeffsy CF Pro Race 27 The bike's riding qualities are also impressive. The special feature of the top model is the extra suspension travel. In contrast to the cheaper models with 150 millimetres of suspension travel, the CF Pro Race is already positioned in the enduro segment with 160 millimetres at the front and rear. Nevertheless, the bike in size L including bottle cage weighs just 12.4 kilos without pedals - a very good value without any compromises. As a result, the Jeffsy is pleasantly light-footed and agile and can be accelerated with ease. YT has tailored a modern race geometry to the Jeffsy for optimum control on fast terrain. Smooth and safe is the best way to describe the character of the lightweight enduro bike. The rear suspension with the Fox Float X shock works well, has sufficient progression and never leaves the rider in the dark as to where he is rumbling over. When the shock is fully open, the rear end tends to bob slightly when pedalling, but this can be quickly remedied with the platform adjustment. In the slack geometry setting (66° instead of 66.7° steering angle), which can be changed via a chip on the shock mount, the bottom bracket is quite low, which is good for the centre of gravity, but can provoke unwanted bumps. Due to the pronounced Horst link joint in the rear triangle, the chain tends to get stuck when mounting the rear wheel.

Peter Nilges, BIKE Test Manager: With the new Jeffsy 27 CF Pro Race, YT has achieved a great success. Weight, equipment and riding characteristics make for a super attractive package. The lightweight enduro bike has a very wide range of applications. There is hardly a bike currently on offer where you can get more for your money.
