The Pole Evolink 140 comes with a unique geometry: a combination of a DH-worthy head angle, an ultra-steep seat angle and an extremely long frame with the longest wheelbase ever measured in the BIKE lab. As if that wasn't exotic enough, the aluminium frame with VPP rear triangle can be folded by loosening a rear triangle bolt. Finns do a lot of travelling and can thus save on bulky luggage fees.
On the trail, the Evolink initially requires the rider to get used to it. The riding position is not too unusual thanks to the extremely short stem. However, the almost tilting steering and the extreme wheelbase require a more emphatic riding style, especially at slow speeds.
However, as the speed increases, the Evolink shows its advantages more and more. If you ride it at race pace over rough trails, you will experience an incredibly forgiving, if not ultra-sensitive suspension. Line choice and centre of gravity become secondary when chasing the fastest times.
With its neutral rear suspension, the Evolink also takes even steep and technical climbs in its stride. However, the front wheel, which rolls far ahead of you, requires different timing on steps.
Conclusion: not an all-rounder, but an extravagant enduro race bike.
