The traditional Koga brand also remains true to itself when it comes to entry-level e-bikes and their appearance remains classy: geometry a la Holland, discreet frame design with suspension fork concealed in the headset, leather grips - a classy appearance. The Bosch Active Line Plus motor is inconspicuously integrated, cables and lines run through the superbly finished frame, and the Gates belt drive ensures that Mr Cyclist doesn't get his hands dirty. The seating position on the slightly curved handlebars is upright and provides a good overview of the traffic. In combination with the rack battery, however, this results in a rear-heavy position.
If there are still bags on the carrier, the front end becomes light and the Koga E-Nova tends to flutter at higher speeds. However, if you keep your hands on the handlebars, this is neither noticeable nor dangerous. The combination of Active Line motor and 7-speed hub gears is not made for hilly terrain - the motor with its 50 Newton metres and the gears then reach their limits. Otherwise, the E-Nova Evo glides along with the best directional stability and is a truly harmonious overall package for 2999 euros.
Upright riding position, basic comfort thanks to suspension fork and suspension support, a balanced, low-maintenance drive concept for city and short tours - the Koga E-Nova Evo is the perfect choice for those who want all this in a classy design.
