Riding technique special: Basics
All beginnings...If you want to ride your bike confidently and playfully over trails, you need to master the basic techniques of mountain biking.
BASIC POSITION

Centre over the bike: Especially when going downhill, the biker should not be kept in the saddle for long. You can only achieve an active, dynamic riding style if you get out of the saddle and keep your body under tension: Cranks horizontal, slight bending in the knee joints and elbows, shoulder axis above the handlebars, centre of gravity above the bottom bracket, fingers on the brake lever, looking in the direction of travel - this allows you to act and react dynamically.
