Parts in danger: claustrophobia Shin Socks
The idea of socks with protectors may not be new, but it is an ingenious one. After all, anyone who has ever hit their shin with a stone on a downhill knows how painful it can be.

In the thin compression socks from Claustrophobia removable foam protectors for these cases. The calculation works: The insert effectively protects against stones - great! I also like the style. What I don't like, however, is the durability. After just a few test rides, the socks started to run. Although Platzangst supplies three pairs of socks in which you can get the foam pads underneath, this still dampened my euphoria somewhat. Thicker material could help. Price: 40 euros.

Plus Function; wearing comfort

Minus Durability

Conclusion great function, great look, but the fabric needs to be more robust.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
