Endurance test: Ergon HE2 gloves
For three months now, the HE2s have provided daily contact between my hands and the handlebars. The durable silicone prints on the index and middle fingers still provide good grip on the brakes.

The glove fits snugly around the hand. The seams are also unimpressed by the wear and tear. Only the seam on the Velcro fastener is slowly disintegrating and the Kevlar padding is pulling threads. Underneath the robust material there is a sauna feeling on warm days. I only really missed the towelling on the thumb.

CONCLUSIONhard-wearing companion for demanding trail tours with good protection but moderate cooling effect.

Stefan Frey is from Lower Bavaria and loves the mossy, loamy trails of the Bavarian Forest as much as the rugged rock of the Dolomites. For technical descents, he is prepared to tackle almost any ascent - under his own steam. As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
