Trekking cycling trousers should not only be practical and comfortable when cycling, but also look stylish. We tested twelve men's and women's models with a civilian look and comfortable function.
Which type of trousers is better for cycling? Tight and sporty or smart and multifunctional? Would you prefer a pair of pure cycling trousers or a pair of trousers that can be used for different purposes? The touring cyclist who also plans a hike or a visit to a museum along the way will generally opt for practical, comfortable trekking cycling trousers that are not immediately recognisable as a pure cycling outfit.
The more extensive the tours, the more versatile the legwear should be. If you are mainly out and about in summer when the weather is nice, you will want to focus on casual, lightweight 3/4 trousers. On the other hand, hard-wearing trousers with zip-off legs and plenty of pockets have proven their worth for cycling holidays. These multifunctional zip-off trousers can also be worn for hiking or everyday wear. However, fit and comfort are even more important than features and design.
