The Unlimited Cargo W DT Bibtight from Castelli is the one-does-it-all among bike trousers. The warm trousers for women have additional storage space, are made for cycling adventures and especially gravel tours, and they make pit stops easier thanks to their special design.

We tried out the Castelli Unlimited Cargo for women on autumn rides around the house, even in drizzle from above and splashing water from below. The outer skin proved to be well prepared even after several washes and successfully repelled water droplets, except of course in a continuous shower, where the water-repellent material was finally overwhelmed.

The Castelli Bibtight has thick seat padding

The Progetto X2 Air Seamless Donna chamois aims to be the ideal companion for long rides on rough terrain, but our test verdict is mixed when it comes to comfort. Beginners would probably describe the relatively thick padding with its different damping zones as comfortable, while frequent riders would describe the padding as a little too spongy and squirmy on long journeys.

The Nano Flex 3G fabric feels warm and comfortable and protects and keeps you warm enough even in temperatures just above freezing. Two large cargo-style pockets offer plenty of storage space, while overlapping safety flaps at the top ensure that nothing falls out - especially if you get really shaken up on bumpy ground.

Castelli Unlimited Cargo: A good solution for the pee break

According to the manufacturer's description, the braces are made of lightweight and vapour-permeable mesh material, but they are not: the braces are made of a seamless monoelastic material that adapts well to the curves of the body. The zips in the ankle area mentioned in the article description are also not present. Although this makes it a little more difficult to put the trouser legs on, it has the advantage that nothing can chafe or break. There are only two reflectors, which are located at the back of the trouser legs and do not reflect particularly well.

Castelli receives high praise from us for the pull-down brush solution (hook your thumbs into the straps from the centre of the back and pull the trousers down while squatting / sitting down). This works as described and makes pit stops on the move much easier.
