At the end of the seventies, the stags were finally at peace. Back then, shiny lycra prevailed over the original model of cycling trousers: Wool with deerskin inserts. For two decades, the range was quiet again - until the bikers developed their own style a few years ago: wide shorts, more casual, more robust and at the same time more discreet than the skin-tight bibs of racing cyclists. A fashion statement against the world of wattage and calorie measurement.
It's clear that these items are the first to attract attention, especially as evolution has obviously not yet reached a plateau here: between the eight baggies in the test, the question of the right leg length, the ideal outer material and the perfect inner trousers is still far from being resolved. A standard like that for tight trousers has not yet been established. We therefore asked the manufacturers to select the models from their range that they believe offer the ideal combination of riding comfort and style.
