The French company presents a rain jacket and gilet, each weighing less than 100 grams. With a small pack size, the Cosmic Insulated SL and Cosmic Ultimate GTX jacket should fit in any jersey pocket.

When the mountain peaks are covered in snow in spring or autumn - as in the background - bikers often have a problem. Uphill you sweat as much as in summer due to the exertion, but on the descent it gets bitterly cold after just a few hairpin bends. To solve this problem Mavic an ultra-light, padded gilet that does not have a windstopper function but is still designed to keep you warm when worn under a rain jacket. The Primaloft Alpha material used does not lose its warming effect even when the gilet is soaked with sweat. Weighing just 75 grams and with an integrated pouch, the Cosmic Insulated SL can easily be stowed in any jersey pocket. Price: 170 euros.

Mavic Cosmic Ultimate GTX: Ultralight rain jacket

In addition to the lightweight waistcoat, Mavic also offers a matching rain jacket with the Shakedry membrane from Gore-Tex. The Cosmic Ultimate GTX is certainly no bargain at 350 euros, but weighs only 90 grams and has a similarly small pack size as the waistcoat. Its tight cut is orientated towards sporty bikers.
