When Yeti is mentioned, every biker thinks of Californian, turquoise blue luxury bikes, John Tomac, Missy Giove and Richie Rude. But there is also a company of the same name from Germany with similar premium standards but completely different products: Yeti has been manufacturing high-quality jackets and sleeping bags for the most extreme conditions since 1983. Founded out of necessity by an East German mountaineering couple the company's focus has always been on expeditions to the frontier regions of the world. However, bikers now also benefit from the specialists' expertise.
Particularly interesting: The 2.5-layer jacket Medby. The Medby weighs just 225 grams, keeps the wearer warm and dry for a long time even in the pouring rain with a water column of 10,000 millimetres, is extremely breathable (20,000 g/m²/24h), also offers the option of underarm ventilation and can be packed into its own jacket pocket to save space. The spacious hood can be pulled over the helmet and easily adjusted to any shape with quick-release fasteners.
A visual plus for bikers: the jacket is turquoise blue with yellow zips, which brings us back to the bike manufacturer Yeti. Pure coincidence though, the two companies have nothing to do with each other. All further information on the Yeti Medby and the other products can be found on the Website of the manufacturer.
