At just under 120 grams in size L and with a very small pack size, Poc has a stylish wind jacket for racers in its range. Despite its low weight, the Pure Light Splash Jacket has a few good details. Its collar closes high and is lined with soft mesh. The zip disappears behind a cover and can be opened from above and below. The sleeves are cut nice and long and have small flaps that close the gap to the glove. When not in use, the Poc disappears into the small back pocket and then into the jersey pocket or rucksack. The Poc is impeccably finished: no protruding seams and high-quality materials.
The Poc is properly impregnated so that you won't get wet even in a bit of drizzle. Although the jacket is wind-repellent all round, the material does not keep you one hundred per cent dry. On days with very cold winds, the Pure Light Splash wind jacket is therefore not the best choice.
Thanks to the stretchy material, the Poc windbreaker surprisingly comfortable and offers a high degree of freedom of movement. The ventilation openings under the armpits are barely noticeable. However, the material itself is not 100 per cent windproof, so the climate during the ride is just right. Especially as the jacket can also be ventilated from below thanks to the zip. A small drawback with the fit: although the front is cut slightly longer, it doesn't fit neatly around the body and stands out a little when riding fast.
Although the zip of the Poc wind jacket is easy to open while riding, the jacket slides up when you close it and you have to use your other hand to help. On the other hand, the small back pocket is very practical and the jacket can be easily stowed away in it. Putting on and taking off is never a problem thanks to the high stretch content.
The stretchy material of the Poc is a real skin flatterer and offers plenty of freedom of movement. The lined collar is also very comfortable. The sleeves have a great cut, but the waistband is quite loose. The ventilation under the armpits is not very effective, but the Poc can be ventilated well from below via the zip. The zip is difficult to operate with one hand. Practical pack bag with minimal pack size. The almost identical jacket is available as a women's version under the name Poc Essential Splash Jacket.
